We’re thrilled to unveil Valuatic 2.0!

This release marks a comprehensive overhaul of Valuatic Studio, introducing numerous enhancements and optimizations.

SIGNIFICANT CHANGES

Look & Feel

Valuatic Studio transitioned from the outdated Windows 10 appearance to a modern Windows 11 inspired design, enhancing functionality and simplifying the user interface for an improved experience. These updates not only enhance visual appeal but also future-proof Valuatic Studio by adopting the latest Microsoft technologies. Valuatic Studio remains fully operational on Windows 10.

Exam Versioning

Previously, Valuatic Studio allowed forms and exam versions to be marked as “draft”, “review”, or “final”.
Recognising this feature’s complexity and lack of utility, we’ve streamlined the process.
Now, an “approved” marker signifies readiness to execute production-ready exams. Creating an approved exam version will exclude non-production-ready forms, such as forms used as templates for drafting, from the deployed exam version on tablets.

Licensing

Valuatic Studio 1.7’s multiple versions led to confusion during installation and updates with our customers. To simplify this process, we have consolidated these versions into a single available on our website. Licensing is now based on service agreements, with licenses stored directly on the user’s computer. These licenses can be shared across multiple devices and will remain valid for the entire duration of the contract.

Customers who have made a purchase will receive their license files prior to the release of Valuatic 2.0. If you have not received your license or are interested in exploring the advanced features of Valuatic, please do not hesitate to contact us.

IMPROVED

Enhanced guides and messages facilitate exam creation and management.
Content and exam pages now feature validity information about the existing content.
Numerous bugfixes ensuring the security and the stability of the application.
The exam observation overview includes more information about assessments stored on the tablets.
Settings have been reorganised for clarity.
Studio supports saving projects to alternate locations if network-drive connections fail.
Introduced “Save As…” functionality to quickly save a copy of the current project file.
The introduction page now features a project duplication function, facilitating the creation of new exam projects from existing ones. This feature is designed to prevent conflicts when multiple exams, derived from the same project, are simultaneously deployed on the same server.

Valuatic Touch

Valuatic Touch has been updated to the latest technologies, similar to Valuatic Studio, with no major changes to its functionality.

IMPROVED

Added the ability to hide the keyboard without closing the text input popover for better text overview.
The form, examiner, and candidate selections are now preserved when navigating to the settings page.

FIXED

The device alias is now correctly requested if it has not been set when connecting to a server.
Addressed a rare issue causing the app to crash upon closing an assessment.
Resolved a rare crash related to closing the text input popover.

Note:

Valuatic 2.0 can handle all projects and files created with a previous version. However, files created with Valuatic 2.0 cannot be used with version 1.7 and below.

Valuatic Studio 2.0 is also capable of observing and receiving results from tablets with older versions of Valuatic Touch. In case the new version is release during your exam, you can use a mixture of different version on the tablets as long as Valuatic Studio is up-to-date. But to add a new tablet to the exam, the tablet must have Valuatic Touch 2.0 installed.

With the new version, we’ve also improved the security of Valuatic file encryption. Unfortunately, some antivirus software may incorrectly identify Valuatic Studio as ransomware. If you encounter this issue, please add Valuatic Studio to the exclusion list until the antivirus updates have caught up.

Under the hood

All Valuatic Touch and Studio libraries have been updated to the latest .NET 8 frameworks. Studio has been transitioned to the new Windows App SDK, moving from the Universal Windows Platform and upgrading from WinUI 2 to WinUI 3.

We regretfully announce Jonathan Duss’s departure from the Valuatic team, and we extend our sincere gratitude for his invaluable contributions.

Jonathan joined the Valuatic project at its early stages, when our team was small but our ambitions were high. He was a key player in establishing the foundation for what has become a globally utilized application. With just four of us on the team, including two developers, we were responsible for the critical tasks of planning, organizing workflow, addressing user needs, and designing the application’s architecture. From coding and testing to documentation and supporting our international clientele, Jonathan’s efforts were pivotal.

With his exceptional work ethics, he demonstrated a commendable willingness to engage with all facets of the work. He readily addressed both the intellectually satisfying and the more mundane tasks with consistent thoroughness. He consistently sought the best solutions and kept the project’s larger goals in sight. Indeed, the progress and current achievements of Valuatic stand as a testament to his dedication and effort.

As Jonathan moves on to pursue new challenges, we extend our full support and best wishes for his future endeavors.

Thank you, Jonathan, for your dedication and for playing such a vital role in our project’s success.
We wish you all the best in your next chapter.

Valuatic Studio has received major improvements to the editing functionality of forms.
The view to monitor devices live during the evaluation got extended.
Assessments can now be commented by the examiner to give more detail about the overall performance of a candidate.

When finalizing, a new signing overlay will appear allowing the examiner to comfortably draw his/her signature.

With the new colours and icons of the answer elements, it is now easier to see the type and state of these elements/selections. The smaller size of the elements make the assessment screen quicker to scan, the form shorter, and improves overall usability.
